- 8 ounces rigatoni pasta or bow tie or penne (I used tortiglioni)
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- ¼ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese plus extra for garnish if desired
- 1 teaspoon Italian dressing mix or your favorite seasoning mix (or ½ teaspoon oregano and ½ teaspoon garlic powder)
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- parsley finely chopped, to garnish, optional
