Ingredients
For the tart
1 cup + 3 tablespoons flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/ 2 teaspoon cloves
1/2 cup pumpkin puree
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup melted butter or vegetable oil
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
For the glaze
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1 1/2 cups very hot water
Making the Skewers Pumpkin and Pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and spices. Put aside.
In a smaller bowl, combine pumpkin, milk, melted butter and vanilla. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a thick paste forms.Pour into a small, high-sided 8-inch pot.
In another bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar and pecans. Spread evenly over the cake. Pour hot water over everything {DO NOT MIX!} and cook for 40 minutes or until the center is golden brown.{Be sure to place them on a baking sheet to allow bubbles to form.} Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes before serving. Serve with more pecans and vanilla ice cream
