Ingredients Needed:
For the Pecan Topping:
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter
- 1 cup of packed brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups of pecan halves
For the Cake Batter:
- 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour

- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract

Instructions:
- Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
- For the Pecan Topping: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter. Stir in the brown sugar until it’s fully combined and starts to bubble. Remove it from the heat.
- Pour this caramelized mixture into the bottom of the prepared cake pan. Sprinkle the pecan halves evenly over the caramel layer.
- Now, let’s prepare the Cake Batter: In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set this dry mixture aside.
- In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until it becomes light and fluffy.
