Bread baking

Ingredients:

• 3 cups of flour and a little more to remove the powder

• 1 packet (2/4 teaspoon) of instant yeast

• 2 tablespoons of sugar

• 1/2 teaspoon of salt

• 1 cup of warm water ( about 110° F or 45 degrees) °C)

• 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted, plus more for greasing pans and toppings

• Oil, for greasing

Directions:

1. Mix dry ingredients:

• In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, instant yeast, sugar and salt. Mix these ingredients until well

combined.

2. Add the wet ingredients:

• Make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients and add hot water and melted butter. Mix with a

wooden spoon or your hand until the dough is smooth.

3. Kneading the Dough:

• Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes or until the dough is

soft and smooth. Add some flour if the dough is too sticky, but try to add as little as possible to

soften the bread.

4. First starter:

• Light oil in a large bowl. Put the fried dough into a bowl and turn it so that it is coated with oil on all

sides. Cover the bowl with a clean tea towel or plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place until doubled

in size, about 1 to 1/2 hours.

5. Shaping and Double Resting:

• When the dough doubles in size, tap it lightly to release more steam. Open the surface of the soft

dough and shape it into a loaf. Place the dough in a greased 9 x 5 pan, cover and let rise until almost

doubled in size, 30-45 minutes.

6. Preheat the oven:

• About halfway through the second rise, preheat the oven to 190°C.

7. Baking:

• When the dough rises for the second time, lightly brush it with melted butter. Bake the bread in the

preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds good when you

tap it.

8. Cooling:

• Remove the bread from the oven and place it on a rack to cool completely before slicing.
