INGREDIENTS

1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 small onion, peeled and diced
1 small green bell pepper, seeded and diced
1 1/2 pounds of lean ground meat
2 tablespoons of ketchup
2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons of taco seasoning
2 teaspoons of corn starch
1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
6-12 slices of provolone cheese
6 large hamburger buns

INSTRUCTIONS

Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add onion and bell pepper and sauté, stirring often, until soft; about 5 minutes.
Crumble the ground meat in the pan and cook it, stirring often, until it is completely browned. Drain off some of the excess fat if desired.
Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and taco seasoning; stir well.
In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and chicken broth. Add mixture to cooked meat and stir well.
Let meat simmer for 6-8 minutes, stirring often, until sauce thickens.
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place the bottoms of the hamburger buns in a single layer on the cookie sheet. Put the Sloppy Joe mixture on the buns, and then cover each one with 1-2 slices of provolone cheese.
Put in the oven to grill, then grill the sandwiches until the cheese melts, about 2-3 minutes.
Cover the sloppy joes with the top buns.
Serve immediately.
