Best Lemonade Ever

This refreshing lemonade recipe is perfect for hot summer days. With the right balance of sweetness and tartness, it’s a crowd-pleaser for any gathering. The combination of fresh lemon juice and a homemade simple syrup makes this lemonade extra special.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ¾ cups white sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 9 medium lemons, or more as needed
  • 7 cups ice-cold water
  • Ice as needed

Directions:

Gather all ingredients.

Combine the white sugar and 1 cup of water in a small saucepan. Stir to dissolve the sugar while the mixture comes to a boil. Set aside to cool slightly.

Meanwhile, roll the lemons around on your counter to soften them. Cut the lemons in half crosswise and squeeze the juice into a liquid measuring cup. Add the pulp to the juice, but discard any seeds. Continue juicing until you have 1 1/2 cups of fresh juice and pulp.

Pour 7 cups of ice-cold water into a large pitcher. Stir in the lemon juice and pulp, then add the simple syrup to taste. Add ice as needed.

Serve the lemonade over ice in glasses. Enjoy this refreshing and delicious drink!

Recipe Tips:

  • To make ahead, refrigerate the cooled simple syrup for up to one month. Continue with Step 3 when ready to serve.
  • Nine medium lemons should yield about 1 1/2 cups of juice and pulp, but the number required may vary depending on the size of the lemons.
