Causes and treatments for an itchy ear canal

3. Hydrogen peroxide: Mix one part hydrogen peroxide with one part water. Use a small dropper to drip the mixture into your ear. This will help clean out excessive ear wax.

4. Aloe vera: Home Remedy Shop suggests three to five drops of gel from an aloe vera plant, which can restore pH levels and provide anti-inflammation benefits.

5. Homemade elderberry syrup:Wellness Mama recommends elderberry syrup (her recipe is here) for soothing earaches and potential infections, especially in kids. Don’t put it in your ear, though! Wellness Mama suggests drinking some for its antiviral properties, which may help recovery from an ear infection.

If your itchy ear persists, you may want to talk to a doctor, who can prescribe an antibiotic ointment or ear drops, according to Healthline.
