Cheeseburger Pockets Recipe

Create these delightful cheeseburger pockets for a fun and tasty twist on a classic cheeseburger. Wrapped in crescent roll dough, they’re perfect for a quick meal or a kid-friendly dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 package (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

Preheat the Oven:

  • Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures it’s hot enough to bake the pockets to a golden brown.

Cook the Onions and Beef:

  • In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent and soft, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart with a spoon and cook until it’s browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.

Season the Beef Mixture:

  • Stir in the ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well to incorporate all the flavors.
  • Season with salt and pepper. Allow the mixture to cook for a few more minutes to let the flavors meld. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Assemble the Pockets:

  • Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface and separate it into 8 triangles.
  • Spoon the beef mixture onto the wide end of each triangle and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal, forming the pockets.

Bake:

  • Place the pockets on a parchment-lined baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced out.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the dough is golden and crispy.

Serve:

  • Allow the cheeseburger pockets to cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving to let the filling set, making them easier to handle.

Enjoy these cheeseburger pockets as a snack, part of a meal, or even pack them for a picnic. They are sure to be a hit with both kids and adults alike!
