2 tablespoons of cornstarch
2 tablespoons of water
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 pound of round beef/strips
4 cups of broccoli
1 small onion
2 carrots each
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
1/3 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of ground ginger
1 tablespoon of corn starch
1/2 cup of water
Coating: In a bowl, combine cornstarch, water and garlic powder. Mix until smooth. Mix the meat with this mixture.
Sauce: In a bowl, combine soybeans, brown sugar, ground ginger, cornstarch and water. Mix until smooth.
In a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, sauté the meat in one tablespoon of oil until meat is browned. Remove and keep warm.
Fry broccoli, carrots and onion in remaining oil. Add meat and sauce.
Cook for about 3 minutes, stirring continuously to ensure even cooking.
Serve over rice.
