Foster Dad Crochets His Pup A Very Special Outfit To Help Him Get Adopted

As Greatens’ bond with the dogs improved, so did his crocheting skills. Greatens practiced crocheting during his work meetings as a way to keep his hands busy and mind clear, but he wasn’t ready to commit to a big project just yet.

“I’m too impatient to make a human sweater for now,” Greatens said. “So the natural first step was to make tiny sweaters for the rescue Chihuahuas.”

He hoped that the bespoke sweaters would not only keep the senior dogs warm but would help them find a forever family as well.

Agnarr could tell he looked dapper in his new outfit and was thrilled with the coziness it offered. “Agnarr is really thin, and in Minnesota, it gets cold in our apartment,” Greatens said. “So I think he’s grateful for the sweater.”

“The hat, on the other hand, he does not like,” he added.

The senior pups may have had a tough life, but you’d never know it from the way they look. “Now they’re the best-dressed dogs in the neighborhood,” Greatens said.

After months of looking for a family to spend their golden years with, Agnarr and Yelena finally got adopted together thanks to their foster dad’s adorable outfits. And their loving forever family promises that they will continue to be trendsetters around town.
