INGREDIENTS

Cookies:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
1 large egg
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Icing:
2 cups of powdered sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1/4 cup of milk
2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

PREPARATION

Preheat the oven to 350º and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl or in a mixer, spread the butter and sugar for 3-4 minutes, or until fluffy and light in color.
Mix in the egg, then, once incorporated, add the vanilla extract.
In a medium bowl, mix the flour, baking powder and salt, then gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet one.
Fold in the melted chocolate until well combined.
Using a tablespoon or small ice cream scoop, drop small spoonfuls of dough on the lined baking sheets.
Place the tray in the oven and bake the cookies for 9-10 minutes, or until they settle on the outside but are still soft inside.
Remove from the oven and let them cool completely.
While baking the cookies, make the glaze by mixing the butter, milk, cocoa powder and vanilla extract in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
Once melted and smooth, remove the pan from the heat and add the powdered sugar until smooth.
Pour the icing over the cooled cookies and let them rest.

Enjoy!
