Instructions
In a saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa powder, salt and cornstarch. Mix well. Add the cold milk and whisk until combined.
Increase the heat to medium, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a boil.
Bring the mixture to a boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat and stir in the butter and vanilla.
Let the mixture cool completely, stirring occasionally to prevent a skin from forming on the pudding.
Serve hot or cold.

Note: Place plastic wrap directly on the surface of the pudding while cooling to prevent a skin from forming.
