Homemade Turtle Candy With Pecans and Caramel

Ingredients:

12 ounces of soft candy (homemade or store-bought)
6 ounces of nuts (halves, toasted)
8 ounces of chocolate (semi-sweet, chips are fine)

How to do it:

1 Gather the ingredients.02 Prepare a cookie sheet by covering it with aluminum foil or parchment, and spraying the foil or parchment with nonstick cooking spray.03 Arrange the nuts in groups of 4 with each nut pointing in a different direction (like turtle legs). Alternatively, you can leave them in small groups on the baking tray.04 Unwrap the candies if they are wrapped and place them in a microwaveable container. If they are too hard, add a spoonful of water to make the final product softer. Heat them in the microwave until they melt, stirring every 30 seconds.05 Allow the caramel to cool slightly, so that it does not get hot, and then use a spoon or small ladle to drop one tablespoon of caramel on each cluster of nuts. They are supposed to be a rustic candy, so don’t worry about keeping the turtles around or having some of the nuts poked around.
