Honey-Glazed Ribs

These honey-glazed ribs are easy to make and delicious served either hot or at room temperature. This is a great recipe for a casual dinner party that you can make ahead. The sauce is fantastic served over rice.

Ingredients:

  • 4 pounds pork spareribs
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup distilled white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt

Directions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Prepare the Ribs:
    Slice the ribs into individual pieces.
  3. Make the Glaze:
    In a large bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, and minced garlic. Stir until the honey and sugar are completely dissolved, then stir in the baking soda. The mixture will begin to foam.
  4. Coat the Ribs:
    Transfer the ribs to the bowl and turn them to coat evenly with the glaze.
  5. Prepare the Baking Sheet:
    Cover a cookie sheet with foil. Arrange the ribs meat-side up on the prepared sheet. Pour any excess sauce over the ribs and sprinkle them with garlic salt.
  6. Bake:
    Place the ribs in the preheated oven and bake for 1 hour, or until they are tender and the glaze has caramelized.
  7. Serve:
    Serve the honey-glazed ribs hot or at room temperature. The sauce is great served over rice.
