2 pounds of ground beef or turkey
3 teaspoons of chopped garlic
1 large yellow onion, diced
2 1/2 cups of water
1/2 cup of meat broth
1/3 cup of olive oil
2 cans (15 ounces) of tomato sauce
2 cans (15 ounces) of diced tomatoes
1 T of Italian seasoning
1 T of seasoning for the marinade
3 laurel leaves
1 T of seasoned salt
1/2 T of black pepper
2 cups of elbow macaroni, uncooked
1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
In a large skillet, sauté ground beef in skillet over medium-high heat until half cooked, remove from heat.
Add garlic, onions, olive oil and until meat is fully cooked.
Add water and broth, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, bay leaves, and salt, pepper and seasoning for marinade. Mix well.
Lower the heat and cover – leave to cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the uncooked macaroni to the pan, stir well until everything is combined.
Cover once more and let it simmer for about 30 minutes
Once cooked, remove the laurel leaves
Add only the cheddar cheese and mix until combined
Add mozzarella just before serving
