Not that traditional krispy rice isn’t good, it’s just a little boring and safe. They are the opposite. They are amazing in a way that everyone, including the krispies who treat the purists, will love.
Cooking spray, for the frying pan
5 tablespoons of butter
A 10 ounce bag of marshmallows
1/2 c. of soft peanut butter
Pinch the kosher salt
6 c. Rice Krispies Cereal
24 cups of Reese
1/4 c. melted peanut butter, for garnish
1/4 c. of melted chocolate, to garnish
Line a 9″-x-13″ pan with parchment paper and grease with cooking spray. In a large pot over medium-low heat, melt the butter. Add the marshmallows, peanut butter and salt and stir until the mixture melts. Remove from heat.
Immediately add the Rice Krispies and stir with a rubber spatula until combined. Working quickly, press half of the mixture into an even layer in the pan, then cover with a layer of Reese’s. Press the rest of the mixture into the Reese’s.
Sprinkle with melted chocolate and peanut butter, then refrigerate until cool, about 30 minutes.
Cut into squares and serve.
