Seafood Casserole with Shrimp and Crab

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 lb crabmeat, fresh or canned
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Seafood Mixture:
    In a large mixing bowl, combine the shrimp, crabmeat, celery, onion, and garlic. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce:
    In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the flour to create a roux, cooking for about 1 minute. Gradually whisk in the milk, continuing to whisk until the mixture thickens and becomes smooth. Remove from heat.
