Shortbread Cookies Recipe

Butter cookies made with only flour, butter and sugar melt in your mouth, classic and delicious perfection!

Ingredients

4 cups of flour
2 cups softened butter/ room temperature
1 cup of powdered sugar (granulated or brown sugar can also be used)

Instructions

Cream of butter and sugar, then slowly beat in the flour.
Roll up thinly on a parchment or whistle-lined baking sheet, you can leave it on a single sheet or slice it and separate it slightly. Alternatively, you can form small balls and then press them onto a baking sheet.
For a classic butterbread look, you can make intermittent holes in the rolled dough.
Bake at 350F for 10 – 12 minutes until slightly browned at the edges.
Remove from oven and if you have baked the cookies on a single sheet, use a pizza cutter or a sharp knife to cut them into the shape you prefer (I prefer rectangles) while they are still soft.
Let the cookies cool on a wire rack, and enjoy!
