Instructions
- Preheat oven to broil. (The top oven rack should be about 6 inches from the broiler.)
- In a large, oven-safe skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, onions, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Continue cooking until the beef is no longer pink.
- Add in beef broth, ketchup, and mustard. Stir until all ingredients are incorporated.
- In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water. Pour into the beef mixture and whisk, cooking until thickened.
- Remove the pan from heat and stir in a cup of the cheese until melted.
- Top with the remaining cheese.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and broil until the cheese is hot and bubbly (3-5 minutes).
- Serve warm with toasted baguettes or bagel chips.
