Slow Cooker Dr Pepper Ribs

The Dr. Pepper ribs in the slow cooker fall off the bone and taste best. This recipe takes only a few simple ingredients and tastes great every time.

INGREDIENTS

4.5 pounds of country style pork ribs
2 12-ounce cans of Dr. Pepper soda, divided
3/4 cup barbecue sauce
2 teaspoons liquid smoke
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 teaspoon of ground black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

In the slow cooker, pour a can of soda over the ribs.
Cover and simmer for about 7 hours or over high heat for about 4 hours.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
Place a wire rack on the prepared baking sheet.
Stir in BBQ sauce, liquid smoke, garlic powder and pepper with 1/2 cup Dr. Pepper.
Move ribs from slow cooker to wire rack.
Brush ribs with sauce and bake for 15 minutes.
Flip the ribs, brush them again and bake them for another 15 minutes.
Serve hot with the rest of the sauce.
