STUFFED CABBAGES ROLLS

My husband grew up eating stuffed cabbage and I have always wanted to do this for him. He loved this recipe. It’s easy to make and it’s delicious.

Ingredients:

2 heads of cabbage
2 pounds of ground beef (or beef/beef/pig mix)
3 cups of cooked rice
1 egg
1 teaspoon of garlic
1 tablespoon of parsley
2 slices of chopped onion
1 15-ounce can of tomato sauce
1-28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
1/4 cup of tomato sauce (on the meat)
Salt and pepper to taste
Put a head of cabbage in a pot of boiling water, and peel the cabbage leaves one at a time.
Cut the rough part of the cabbage leaf end with a sharp knife.

Instructions :

Mix all the ingredients together except the 15 ounce can of tomato sauce and the crushed tomatoes and put a small amount (the size of a sausage) on a cabbage leaf, and roll up like a fajita and place the seam down in a casserole. Put the tomato sauce and a cabbage leaf or two in the bottom of the pan so the Halupky doesn’t burn.
Pour the crushed tomatoes over the Halupkys.
Cover them and bake them for approximately 75 minutes at 375º. Lower the oven to 325º and bake about 90 minutes more until the cabbage is tender. Sufficient every hour.
Serve with tomato sauce.
