BACON POUTINE RECIPE

Seasoned fries are filled with cheese curd, homemade sauce, mozzarella cheese and bacon in this classic Routine Recipe!

Ingredients

1 bag (28 ounces) of frozen and seasoned French fries, baked according to package instructions
5 slices of bacon, chopped
1 medium shallot, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
1 1/2 teaspoons of salt
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
1 tablespoon of Worchestershire sauce
1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
2 cups of white cheddar cheese curd

Instructions

Bake seasoned French fries according to package instructions.
While the fries are baking, add the chopped bacon to a medium skillet and heat over medium heat until crisp. Remove from pan and set aside.
In the same pan (do not clean the fat from the bacon), add the shallots, stirring until soft.
Add garlic and cook for one minute.
Add the flour, stirring constantly, until the flour turns a golden color.
Slowly pour in the chicken broth, stirring constantly. Add the salt, pepper and Worchestershire sauce and continue stirring until the sauce thickens (3 to 5 minutes) and simmer.
Cover the baked potato chips with cheese curd, sauce, mozzarella cheese and cooked bacon bits. Bake the potatoes for about 5 minutes, or until the cheese melts.
