Caramel apple cobbler

The best caramel apple pie is a sweet autumn flavor baked into a dessert. This recipe is comfort food at its best. Sour apples, sweet caramel and hot cinnamon combined with a buttery crust is the ultimate recipe for making during the autumn months.
This dessert tastes like apple pie but is much easier to make, especially if you are not an expert in making pie crusts.
I enjoy the pastry part of this dessert, it is buttery and the brown sugar and water create a caramel sauce that really makes the dessert. The apples I chose keep their shape but are soft in texture. It’s a great combination of flavors and textures.
Just a note, I recommend serving it hot with a big scoop of good quality vanilla ice cream.
When baking apples, variety is important. I prefer a sweet and sour flavor and an apple that doesn’t cook to mash. After all, I want apple cobbler, not apple sauce cobbler.
