1 package (15.25 ounces) white cake mix
1 teaspoon of homemade apple pie spices
2/3 cup (168g) evaporated milk, divided
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup (170g) (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
1 package (11 ounces) of candy pieces*
1 can (20 ounces) apple pie filling
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
In a medium bowl, whisk together cake mix, apple pie seasoning, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, vanilla, and melted butter. Mix until smooth.
Pour half of the batter into a greased 9×13 baking pan and smooth to create an even layer.
Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine candy and 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
Remove from oven, cover with apple pie filling and then with caramel mixture (save some to cover later).
Crumble the rest of the dough on top.
Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
*If you don’t have pieces of candy you can use squares of candy or candy sauce in a jar
