Crispy Oven Baked Chicken Wings

These oven-baked chicken wings have been tested and approved by many! With the perfect blend of seasoning, the best method of cooking in the oven and just the right amount of sauce, these wings will surprise you.

Ingredients

4 pounds of chicken wings, separated and the wing tips discarded
1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon of seasoned salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1/3 cup buffalo sauce, like Frank’s Red Hot

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a cooling rack for the oven on top. Spray it with non-stick spray and set it aside.
Use plenty of paper towels to squeeze as much moisture as possible from the chicken wings, making sure they are dry.
Combine baking powder, seasoned salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper in a large bowl (or zip-top bag) and stir to combine. Add the chicken wings and mix to coat evenly.
Place the chicken wings on a prepared baking sheet, making sure to leave room for them not to touch each other. Bake for 30 minutes, then turn over and continue baking for another 30 to 40 minutes, until the chicken wings are golden and crisp.
Combine the melted butter and buffalo sauce in a large bowl and whisk to combine. Just before serving, quickly toss the chicken wings into the sauce and serve immediately – enjoy!

Notes

Wings are best served immediately. If you want to make them in advance, bake them but don’t put them in the sauce. Reheat them in the hot oven (or in the air fryer) until they are warm and then mix them with the sauce and serve them.
