EASY CHERRY CHEESE DANISH RECIPE

This easy Danish cherry cheese recipe is elegant enough for parties and special occasions, but simple enough to make on a Tuesday morning – a delicious breakfast that looks so impressive!

Ingredients

17.3 ounces frozen puff pastry 1 box, 2 sheets
6 ounces of cream cheese
⅓ cup of sugar
1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract or 3 tablespoons bourbon
21 ounces of cherry pie filling
powdered sugar to sprinkle on top

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400°.
Prepare a roll of puff pastry and cut it in half and then in half again. Making 4 equal squares.
Leaving an edge of ½ centimeters, start ½ centimeters from the corner and cut parallel to one side not quite in the middle. Start from where you cut in the corner and make an “L” going down the other side but not all the way to the middle. Do this at each corner. (see photo for example)
Repeat in all four squares.
Mix the cream cheese, sugar and bourbon in a bowl. Put a small spoonful in the middle of each corner of the pasta.
Place a cherry and a small amount of filling in each corner of the cream cheese.
Dip your finger in water and moisten each corner to help it stick.
Fold each cut corner piece in the middle making sure to press lightly to hold it. Put a cherry in the middle.
Repeat with the second roll of paste.
Bake for 12 minutes.
Remove from oven and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Enjoy!
