Easy Homemade Apple Fritters

These Easy-To-Make Homemade Apple Fritters are full of fresh, easy-to-make apples with simple ingredients, and can be ready in just 30 minutes! They are destined to be a new family favorite!

Ingredients

APPLE FRY
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
3-4 cups of apples, diced 2 large apples, peeled and cut into bite-sized pieces (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
2 large eggs at room temperature
¼ cup of whole milk
Vegetable oil for frying

GLAZE
1 1/4 cup of confectioner’s sugar
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
3-5 teaspoons of water

Instructions

Beat together flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt in a medium bowl.
In another bowl, add the diced apples and the lemon juice and apples.
Add the sugar and eggs to the bowl of a stand mixer. Using a paddle attachment, mix at medium speed until completely combined. Reduce to low and add the flour mixture and mix until fully combined.
Add the milk and continue stirring until all is well combined and then add the diced apples.
Fill a frying pan halfway with oil. Heat over medium heat until oil reaches 375°F with a caramel thermometer or an instant read thermometer.
1/4 cup at a time, put the dough in oil and let it fry until golden brown (the dough will feel thin, but it will come together, don’t worry). Turn over and fry the other side until golden brown. You will know they are ready if you put a small knife in the center and wipe it off. If not, fry some more.
Use a slotted spoon to transfer it to a paper towel-lined cooling rack and let it cool. Repeat with all the dough.

GLAZES
In a small bowl, combine the sugar, vanilla and 3 teaspoons of water. Add more water, one teaspoon at a time, until a pourable consistency is reached.
Sprinkle icing over cooled fritters and allow to dry.
