Easy Pumpkin Pie Twists

This is a great fall dessert idea and a delicious gift for Thanksgiving or Halloween!

Ingredients

refrigerated crescent mass 1 tube
1/2 cup pumpkin puree
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1 teaspoon pumpkin spices
2 tablespoons of melted butter
1 spoonful of sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Whipped cream for dipping is optional.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, mix pumpkin puree, brown sugar, maple syrup and pumpkin spices.
Roll out the crescent dough on a cutting board. Cut the dough in half so that it has two identical rectangles and place them side by side.
Spread the pumpkin mixture evenly over one of the dough rectangles.
Place the second rectangle of dough over the first rectangle of dough (so that the pumpkin mixture is interspersed between them). Make sure to align all the edges.
Use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into strips about 3/4 inch wide.
Transfer the strips to the parchment lined baking sheet.
Twist each strip by taking one end and twisting it twice, and then taking the other end and twisting it another 2 or 3 times.
Brush the melted butter generously over each twist.
Mix the sugar and cinnamon and spread it evenly over each turn.
Bake at 375F for 8-11 minutes until golden brown.
