EASY SLOW COOKER SMOTHERED CHICKEN

Slow Cooker Chicken – With just a few ingredients and minutes to prepare, this simple and tasty slow cooker chicken with sauce is a meal the whole family will love. Serve the chicken and sauce over mashed potatoes, rice or egg noodles. This is the best comfort food during fall and winter, perfect for a busy day… let your crock-pot do most of the work.

Ingredients

2 to 2 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 can (10.75 ounces) cream of mushroom soup – (or make homemade cream of mushroom soup)
1 can (10.75 ounces) cream of condensed chicken soup (or make homemade cream of condensed chicken soup)
1 package (1 ounce) Lipton or store brand onion soup (or make a homemade dry onion soup mix)
8 ounces of sliced mushrooms (fresh or canned – if canned, be sure to drain)
1/3 cup water
pepper

Directions

Spray the slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray. Place the chicken breasts in a single layer on the stove and season with pepper. In a bowl, mix the condensed soups, onion soup, mushrooms and water. Mix well. Pour the mixture evenly over the chicken. Cook over high heat for 4 to 5 hours or over low heat for 7 to 8 hours. Be sure to adjust cooking times according to how fast/slow your cooking is.
When ready, shred the chicken with two forks. Serve the chicken with the sauce over mashed potatoes, rice or egg noodles with your favorite vegetable (steamed broccoli, green beans) and a salad. Enjoy!
