Easy Stuffing Recipe

This easy filling recipe will complete almost any meal! Celery, onions and butter are mixed with dry bread cubes, then covered with broth and baked until hot and brown.

Ingredients

▢2 small diced onions
▢4 stalks diced celery
▢⅔ cup of butter
▢1 ½ teaspoons poultry seasoning or ½ teaspoon ground sage
▢black pepper
▢salt for testing
▢12 bread cube cups
▢3-4 cups of chicken broth
▢2 tablespoons of fresh parsley
▢1 tablespoon fresh herbs sage, thyme, rosemary

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion, celery and poultry seasoning (and rosemary if using). Cook over medium-low heat until tender (not brown), about 10-12 minutes.
Place bread cubes in a large bowl. Add onion mixture, parsley and fresh herbs.
Pour broth over until cubes are moist (but not soggy) and stir gently. You may not need all the broth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Place the mixture in a serving dish, sprinkle with additional butter and cover.
Bake for 35 minutes, uncovered and bake for an additional 10 minutes.

Recipe notes

If rosemary is used in the herbs, it should be cooked along with the onions or celery. To stuff the turkey, the stuffing must be completely cooled in the refrigerator for at least 45 minutes.
