Homemade Wonton Soup

Meat-filled wontons swim in a clear but intense flavored broth enhanced with ginger, soy, sesame and garlic.

Ingredients

▢30 Wonton Wrappers

Wonton filling
▢8 ounces of ground pork
▢2 finely chopped green onions
▢1 tablespoon of soy sauce
▢1 teaspoon sesame oil
▢1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
▢1 ½ teaspoons cornstarch

Broth
▢8 cups of chicken broth
▢2 whole garlic cloves
▢2 ginger slices approx. 1/4
▢2 tablespoons of soy sauce
▢1 teaspoon sesame oil
▢2 sliced green onions

Instructions

Wontons
In a large bowl combine all the filling ingredients.
Place one teaspoon of filling in the center of a wonton wrapper. Wet the edges and fold them in half to create a triangle. Wet the two longer ends and join them together. Press together.
Dip the bottom in flour and place it in a parchment lined tray. Repeat with the remaining wontons.

Soup
Bring all the ingredients of the broth to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove garlic and ginger and discard.
Add the wontons and simmer 4-6 minutes or until the pork is well cooked. Serve immediately.
