Moist Banana Bread

Learn how to make easy banana bread! This banana bread recipe is moist, soft and super rich in flavor. All you need is one bowl, few basic ingredients and 5 minutes of work.


  • 3 Ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup (100g) White sugar
  • 1/4 cup (50g) Brown sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (115g) Melted butter
  • 2 cups (250g) Flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup (80g) Chocolate chips (optional) *or nuts of choice
  • 1 Banana for topping (optional)


  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4×8-inch loaf pan line with parchment paper and grease with butter the paper as well. Set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl place 3 bananas and mash with a fork until smooth as possible. Add both sugars and mix until combined. Add eggs, vanilla extract and mix until combined. Add melted butter and mix until combined.
  3. Sift in flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Stir until incorporated, do not over mix.
  4. Add chocolate chip (note: at this stage you can also add chopped nuts of your choice) and mix.
  5. Pour the batter into prepared pan. Slice one banana in half longwise and put it on top of the batter, cut side up.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes, release from the pa and allow to cool completely.
