I brought my husband a plate of these Pumpkin Doughnuts after being a little hard on him for something that didn’t require the level of anger he received. My bad mood was well earned, but not by him.
Pumpkin doughnuts, ingredients:
a box of vanilla cake mix
a 15-ounce can of pumpkin
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Maple nutmeg glaze, ingredients:
1 cup of confectioner’s sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup heavy cream
up to 3/4 cup of pure maple syrup
Combine doughnut ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.
Pour the dough into a one-gallon bag with the corner cut off or a bag of pipe, and pour the dough into lightly greased doughnut pans.
Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 13-15 minutes.
Allow to cool at least ten minutes before removing from pan.
Maple Nutmeg Glaze, Directions
Add sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon to a bowl.
Add the cream and then the maple syrup until it reaches the desired consistency.
Sprinkle over the doughnuts, let the glaze set (or not) and enjoy!
