TERIYAKI STEAK BITES

Ingredients

3-3 1/2 pounds thick of sirloin fillets cut into bite-sized pieces.
Olive oil
1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
1 tablespoon of light brown sugar
1 tablespoon of corn starch
1 teaspoon of sesame oil
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 teaspoon of garlic salt
1 teaspoon of red bell pepper flakes
1 large green bell pepper without seeds and cut into thin slices (or a poblano bell pepper)
1 large onion, cut into 1/4 inch pieces

Instructions

Cut the fillet into bite-size cubes of about 3/4 inch.
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together teriyaki, brown sugar, corn starch, sesame oil, garlic powder, garlic salt and red pepper flakes. Beat until the brown sugar and corn starch are completely dissolved
Pour over meat bites and stir until evenly coated.
Spray a large (12 inch) skillet with olive oil. Turn heat to high.
Once pan is hot, fry steak bites in batches. (Turn heat down to medium-high if necessary to avoid burning) Cook for 4-6 minutes total on both sides turning as needed. Adjust cooking time to desired cooking.
Place on a platter and keep warm until all fillets are cooked. Add additional olive oil between batches as needed.
Add the green bell pepper and onion to the pan. Sauté for 2-3 minutes over medium-high heat or until crisp and tender. Adjust salt, if necessary. (The drops left in the pan will season the vegetables)
Add the fillet bites to the pan and stir to distribute them.
Remove the pan from the heat and serve.
