“He doesn’t have a mean bone in his grizzled old body,” Boger added. “Just lots and lots of love to give.”
“We expected him to show up with some matted fur, dirty ears, fleas and generally be just a bit disheveled,” Boger said. “But, in reality, he was the saddest, sickest cat I’d ever seen.”
Both of Mason’s ears were damaged and deep scars ran down the sides of his face. His fur was scabby and he was suffering from a number of other health and dental issues, including ringworm.
But after weeks of vet visits, Mason is healing and feeling stronger every day. “While Mason has had some health challenges, everything appears to be surmountable,” Boger said. “He has responded incredibly well to everything that’s come at him so far.”
Though Mason has been through so much in his life, he’s still just a “sweet, gentle, little old teddy bear,” according to Boger. And whoever ends up adopting him will have an instant best friend with so much love to give.
