AIR FRYER PORK BELLY BITES

The pork belly bites in the air fryer are tasty, seasoned pieces of pork belly that cook crisp in an air fryer with less oil and mess compared to the fryer.

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds of pork belly, patted dry
3 tablespoons of canola oil
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of pepper

Instructions

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
Dry the pork belly and cut it into 1-inch pieces. (If the pork belly has thawed at room temperature, place it in the refrigerator for a few minutes to allow it to harden a little and cut more easily.)
Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine oil, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Add the pork belly pieces to the oil mixture, covering each piece.
Place the pork belly pieces in a single layer in the fryer basket. (I was able to place all the pieces in the basket, but you may have to divide them into two or three batches, depending on the size of your air fryer.)
) Fry the pork belly cubes in the air for 18-20 minutes, shaking them and turning them over a couple of times during cooking time. Note: cooking time will depend on the size of the pork belly cubes and the size of the fryer.
Remove from the air fryer and serve hot.
