APPLE CINNAMON CURLY FRIES

Apple cinnamon curly potatoes are a fun new fall recipe that everyone will go crazy for. Dip them in candy for an easy but forgiving treatment!

INGREDIENTS

3 medium or large baking apples (Granny Smith, Jonathan or Jonagold, Braeburn, Honeycrisp)
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup of granulated sugar
2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon
oil for frying
Caramel sauce, to serve (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Fill a deep pan with at least 2 inches of oil. Heat over medium heat to 350°F. Adjust the heat as needed to maintain this temperature.
Peel and chop apples.
Place apples in a large bowl. Sprinkle them with flour, tapping them with tongs or clean hands to make sure the apples are covered evenly.
In a medium bowl or pie plate, combine sugar and cinnamon until evenly mixed. Set aside.
Fry the apples in batches until lightly browned, then remove them from the oil and immediately shake them into the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Remove apples from cinnamon-sugar mixture and serve immediately.

NOTES

You can use a deep fryer or an air fryer for this recipe if you prefer. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
