It’s hard to think of many things more perfect for autumn weather than apples. Unless it’s these apple chips with caramel sauce.
Apple chip ingredients:
3 large Gala apples
1 C flour
3 large eggs, beaten
1 C graham cracker crumbs
1/4 C sugar
Ingredients of the caramel sauce:
1 container of caramel sauce
Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees.
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare the apples: peel, core and cut the apples into 8 pieces.
Add the flour in a medium-sized bowl. Set aside.
Beat the eggs and pour them into a shallow dish.
In a second shallow dish, combine the crushed graham crackers and sugar. Stir to mix.
Line the bowl with flour first, second put in the beaten eggs, and the crushed graham crackers, and the sugar combination.
Start by pouring each apple piece into the flour.
Coat the floured apple pieces in the beaten eggs.
Third, roll the apple pieces in the sugar-crushed graham cracker mixture.
Place each prepared apple chunk on the prepared cookie sheet.
Mix the apple pieces and flour in a large bowl. Place each apple slice in the egg, then in the graham cracker crumbs. Cover the slices on all sides and place the covered slices on a cookie sheet.
Cover the bottom of the fryer basket with oil.
Do not overlap apple slices in the fryer. Fry apples in batches. Spray apple pieces with a light coat of oil. Fry in the air at 380 degrees for 5 minutes then turn the apple pieces over and for 2 more minutes.
Pour the caramel sauce into a serving bowl. Transfer the bowl to the microwave. Heat until the caramel sauce is hot and ready to serve with the apple chips.
