In my early days as a blogger, I came across a new cookie bar craze. Cookie bars were created by putting chocolate chip cookie dough on top of brownie dough for a delicious dessert.
2 cups of sugar
⅔ cup of cocoa powder
1 cup melted butter
2 teaspoons vanilla
1½ cups of flour
½ teaspoon salt
10 tablespoons of butter, at room temperature
⅔ cup of brown sugar
⅓ cup of white sugar
1 egg + 1 additional egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1⅔ cups of flour
¾ teaspoon. baking soda
¾ teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips, plus some extra to sprinkle on top
Spray a 9 x 13 pan with non-stick spray or line the pan with non-stick aluminum foil. Preheat the oven to 350º.
Stir in the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Add the flour, the cocoa, the salt and mix everything until it is combined. Spread on the prepared pan.
To make the layer of cookie dough, beat the butter and sugar.
Add the eggs and vanilla and mix until combined.
Add the dry ingredients and, with a wooden spoon, mix until combined. Fold in the chips.
Flatten the pieces of dough in your hands and place them on the brownie layer to cover them.
Sprinkle over a few more chips. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
Cool on a wire rack before cutting.
