Chocolate Molten Lava Cake

Today is a special day. It’s my anniversary! Today I celebrate another wonderful year of being married to my amazing husband.
Today he asked for a recipe that would do justice to this day.
There is no more romantic food than chocolate in my honest opinion. That’s why I couldn’t think of a more suitable recipe that I could share on this special day 😉

Ingredients

4 oz. of semi-sweet chocolate for baking, I have also used 4 oz. of semi-sweet chocolate chips successfully
½ cup of butter
1 cup of powdered sugar
2 eggs
2 egg yolks
6 tablespoons of flour

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
Spray 4 small dishes (6-8 oz) with cooking spray and place them on a baking sheet. Set aside.
In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter and chocolate and melt in 30-second increments, alternating each increment until the chocolate and butter are combined and smooth.
Add powdered sugar and stir evenly.
Add the eggs and egg yolks and beat until well combined.
Add the flour until well combined.
Pour and distribute the dough evenly over the 4 prepared dishes in the kitchen.
Bake at 425 degrees F for 12-13 minutes until edges are firm and center is soft, but not super stirred.
Cool for 2 minutes. Using a knife, gently remove the cake from the edges and then invert it onto a plate or platter.
Serve with powdered sugar, ice cream, magic shell or whatever you like. No matter how you want to eat it, serve it immediately.
