Copycat Crunchwrap Supreme

This Crunchwrap Supreme mimic is full of delicious ingredients such as meat, cheese, tomatoes and crunchy lettuce.

Ingredients

▢5 large flour tortillas
▢1 pound of lean ground meat
▢⅓ cup of water
▢3 tablespoons of taco seasoning
▢⅔ cup nacho cheese sauce
▢4 tostadas or 2 cups of tortilla chips
▢⅔ cup of sour cream
▢1 cup grated iceberg lettuce
▢1 cup diced tomatoes
▢2 cups grated Mexican cheese blend

Instructions

Brown ground meat in a large frying pan. Drain the fat. Add one cup of water and taco seasoning. Simmer 5 minutes or until thickened.
Meanwhile, cut one of the flour tortillas into quarters. Cut the corners so they are rounded.
Heat the rest of the flour tortillas in the microwave for 20 seconds (this prevents them from cracking).
Add ¼ cup of ground beef to the center of each tortilla. Cover with cheese sauce. Add the toast shell, sour cream, lettuce, tomato and cheese mixture.
Place the piece of ¼ from the tortilla in the center and gently fold the tortilla to seal it.
Preheat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat in a large skillet (or to cook all the crispy wrappers at once, preheat a large griddle).
Place the tortillas, seam side down, in the pan and cook until golden brown, about 3 to 4 minutes. Turn over and cook the other side.
Serve immediately.

Recipe Notes

Keep the fillings warm on one side of the toast and the cold fillings on the other side. Keep the lettuce in the center so it doesn’t get cooked.
Ground meat can be replaced with any ground meat or even chicken.
If you don’t have any toast shells, substitute a handful of crunchy tortilla chips (break off any sharp corners to avoid breaking the tortilla).
