Delicious Slow Cooker French Onion Chicken

The flavors of the tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, chicken broth and French onion soup mixture will be infused and produce a delicious sauce that goes great with chicken thighs. Speaking of chicken, it’ll be so tender it’ll melt in your mouth.

The steps to make this dish are super easy, you just throw all the ingredients into the slow cooker and wait. It’s the perfect chicken dish if you need to make something that tastes great.

Since the start of this dish is the French onion soup, you’ll want to make sure you buy a quality brand if you want to get the best results.

Ingredients

1 onion, sliced
1.5kg (3.3 lb) of chicken sticks
40g (1.4 oz) French onion soup mix
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
½ cup chicken broth
400g (14 oz) of diced tomatoes

Thickening
2 tablespoons of cornstarch
2 tablespoons of water

Add the onion to the slow cooker.
Now, add the chicken thighs and sprinkle the French onion soup mixture on top.
Then add the Worcestershire sauce, chicken broth and diced tomatoes.
Simmer for 6 hours.
Gently remove chicken from the slow cooker.

Return chicken to crockpot and cook over high heat for 15 minutes or until thickened.
Season to taste.

Serve and enjoy.

Recipe Tips

You can use any cut of chicken in this delicious dish of chicken with French onions. I’ve used chicken fingers, but the thigh or breastworks well too.
The cornstarch thickener, although I recommend using it, is not really necessary. If you don’t add it, then you’ll see that the liquid drains away.
If it’s delayed, this dish will be fine if it’s kept cooking at a low temperature for a few more hours. The chicken can fall off the bone when you go to take it out of the slow cooker.
Feel free to add more vegetables to this dish to give it a little more flavor. It’s also perfect for feeding more people.
