EASY FRIED PICKLES RECIPE

If you like fried pickles as an appetizer in a restaurant, you’ll love making this easy recipe for fried pickles at home! Sliced dill pickles covered with a simple homemade dough and fried to perfection in a golden brown crisp, are perfect for an appetizer, a movie night, a game day or any other occasion.

INGREDIENTS

vegetable oil to fry enough for 2 inches deep in a large, heavy pot
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning blend
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons of hot sauce
1/2 cup of water
16 ounces dill pickle slices, drained and dried with paper towels

INSTRUCTIONS

Heat 2 inches of vegetable oil in a large, heavy pot over medium-high heat to 375F degrees.
In a shallow bowl or on a plate, whisk together flour, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Add hot sauce and water and stir until smooth.
In small amounts, dip the gherkins in the dough and cover them well on all sides.
Carefully add the gherkins to the oil one by one and fry them in small batches for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove the gherkins from the oil and let them drain on paper towels.
Serve hot with the dipping sauce of your choice.
