Kitty Litter Cake Recipe: Gross Halloween Party Food

This cat sand cake recipe has been around for several years. If you want gross food for your Halloween party, cat litter cake is always a hit!

Ingredients

16.25 ounces chocolate cake mix
16.25 ounces yellow cake mix
5.1 ounces of instant vanilla or pistachio pudding mix, one large box
25 ounces of vanilla sandwich cookies
Green food coloring
15 small Tootsie Rolls
1 new cat litter tray
1 new Scooper Scooper

Instructions

Prepare cake mixes and bake according to instructions (any size of pan but 13×9 is easiest). Prepare pudding mix and cool until ready to assemble. Crumble the sandwich cookies into small batches in the food processor, scraping often. Set aside all but 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup of cookie crumbs, add a few drops of green food coloring and mix with fingers until they are an even green color.
When the cookies are cooled to room temperature, crumble them in the new sandbox. Mix with half of the remaining cookie crumbs and the cold pudding. Mix only enough of the pudding to moisten it.
You don’t want it soaked. Combine it gently.
Place three unwrapped Tootsie rolls on a microwave plate and heat until soft and pliable. Shape the ends so that they are not blunt, curving them slightly. Repeat with 3 more Tootsie rolls and bury them in the mixture. Sprinkle the other half of the cookie crumbs on top.
Spread the green cookie crumbs lightly over the top. (This is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in cat litter.) Heat 3 Tootsie Rolls in the microwave until they almost melt. Scrape them onto the cake; sprinkle the cookie crumbs. Spread the rest of the Tootsie Rolls over them; take one and heat it until it is pliable, hang it on the side of the cat litter box, sprinkle it lightly with cookie crumbs Serve with a new ladle.
