Most of the time, it is better to let nature be and, as difficult as it may be at times, not to intervene. But of course, that doesn’t mean one should turn a blind eye to an animal in distress. A video showing how a man stops in the middle of a raging storm and rescues a possum in distress recently took the Internet by storm and for all the right reasons!
Abraham Medina was driving home with some of his friends one dark and stormy night in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico. Then, without any warning, Medina suddenly stopped the car. It took his friends a second, but they soon realized why he had done it. There was a small defenseless possum stranded in the middle of the flooded street.
Instead of seeking shelter for himself and his friends, Medina ran straight into the storm to help the little boy. He took off his shirt and carried the possum to a higher place, where it would be safe from the water jet that flooded the streets.
For Medina, helping the distressed bug only took a few seconds and giving up her dry clothes, but it meant the world to the little possum.
