Rolls with garlic butter filled with juicy meatballs and tomato sauce, covered with cheese and baked until golden.
16 frozen or homemade meatballs below
2 cups of pasta sauce or marinara sauce
4 hoagie rolls
4 tablespoons of garlic butter
1 cup of grated provolone or mozzarella cheese
Meatballs (or use frozen meatballs if you prefer)
1 pound of lean ground meat
½ cup of seasoned bread crumbs
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon of onion powder
salt and pepper to taste
Prepare the meatballs as indicated on the package or for homemade meatballs, combine all the ingredients of the meatballs.
Roll them into 1″ balls and place them in a parchment-lined tray. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes or until well cooked.
Place cooked meatballs in a pan with pasta sauce and simmer covered for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, spread garlic butter inside each roll. Heat the grill and grill the rolls until golden brown, about 3 minutes.
Arrange the rolls on a 9×13 baking sheet. Place 4 meatballs on each roll and cover with some sauce and cheese.
Grill 2-3 minutes or until cheese melts. Serve with additional dipping sauce if desired.
