MEATLOAF PATTY MELT

Meatloaf Patty Melt is a meatloaf sandwich with an open face and melted cheese on top, made from tasty ground beef on toast!

Ingredients

4 (6-inch) sub rolls
1 pound of lean ground meat, at least 90% lean.
1 1/4 cups of crackers
1 egg
1/2 small onion, chopped
1/2 cup of milk
4 tablespoons of ketchup and more for the filling
1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 cups of grated cheddar cheese
teaspoon salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Cut the rolls in half (lengthwise). Place on a baking sheet and set aside.
In a medium bowl, combine ground beef, crushed crackers, egg, onion, milk, 4 tablespoons ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, garlic powder, and salt and pepper.
Cover each half of the roll with the meat mixture (spread it evenly over all the rolls).
Spread more ketchup on the meat mixture (as much or as little as desired).
Put in the oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes (until the meat registers 160 degrees F).
Take them out and add grated cheese on top.
Bake for 2-3 more minutes until the cheese melts.
