Mushroom Salisbury Steak

Salisbury Steak is one of our favorite comfort foods! Tender beef burgers topped with a rich onion and mushroom sauce, this one-piece Salisbury Steak dish is super easy to make and full of flavor!

Ingredients

2 tablespoons of butter
1 1/4 cups thinly sliced mushrooms
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 10 ½ ounces can condensed meat broth
1 1/2 pounds of ground meat
1/2 cup Panko bread crumbs
1 egg
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour
1/4 cup ketchup
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
1/3 cup water

Instructions

Put the butter in a pan with onions. Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes making sure the onions do not brown. Add the mushrooms and cook until all the liquid is absorbed.
In a bowl combine the meat, 1/4 cup of broth, egg, pepper and Panko bread crumbs. Mix well and form 6 burgers.
In another small bowl, combine remaining broth, flour, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder and water. Mix well.
Remove the mushrooms and onions from the pan. Place the beef patties in the pan and brown on each side (about 2 minutes). Place the onions and mushrooms on the burgers and pour the broth mixture over them. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until done. Serve with mashed potatoes!
