Panera Mac and Cheese Recipe

For all the fans of Macaroni and Bread Cheese, I am about to blow your mind. This is the real recipe for Panera Mac and Cheese that the company posted on their website some time ago. Thank God my neighbor saved it for all of us to enjoy!

Ingredients

16 ounces of rigate pipettes or elbow macaroni
1/4 cup of butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 1/2 cups of milk
6 slices of American white cheese cut into thin strips
8 oz Vermont extra-shar white cheddar shredded
1/2 teaspoon of Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon of hot sauce

Instructions

Follow the instructions on the al dente pasta package.
Meanwhile, melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Beat the flour and cook for one minute, stirring constantly.
Gradually add the milk and cook over medium heat, stirring until the mixture thickens and bubbles. Remove from heat.
Add the cheeses, mustard, salt and hot sauce, stirring until the cheese melts and the cheese sauce is smooth.
Add the cooked pasta and cook at medium heat for 1 minute (or until very hot). Serve immediately.
