Reese’s Stuffed Brownies

Reese’s peanut butter cups filled into soft, chewy brownies. Cover the brownies with this amazing peanut butter frosting!

Ingredients

1 family-size Pillsbury brownie mix 19.5 ounces
1 large egg
4 ounces of softened cream cheese
1/4 cup softened butter
16 cups of Reese’s full-size frozen peanut butter
Frost:
1/2 cup of softened butter
1 cup creamy peanut butter
3 tablespoons of milk
2 cups of powdered sugar
2 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate

Instructions

In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the brownie mix, egg, cream cheese and butter until well blended.
Spread the dough in a greased 8×8 baking pan.
Take Reese’s frozen peanut butter cups and press them into the brownie dough in a 4×4 grid pattern. They should be pressed hard enough so that the top of Reese’s cup is the same height as the brownie dough.
Bake the brownies at 350 degrees for about 28 minutes.
While the brownies are baking, make the peanut butter glaze. Using a stand mixer, mix the peanut butter, powdered sugar, butter and milk together for 2-3 minutes or until light and fluffy.
Once the brownies are cool, spread the frosting over the brownies.
Place 2 ounces of chocolate in a microwave-safe container. Heat the chocolate in 15-second intervals, stirring between them until completely melted. Do this slowly so that the chocolate does not burn.
Sprinkle the melted chocolate over the peanut butter glaze and allow the brownies to settle.
Store in an airtight container.

Notes

Make half a peanut butter frosting recipe if you want a thinner layer of frosting.
